Proviplast® 0142
Proviplast 0142 is a high quality plasticiser for polar elastomers with an emphasis on low temperature applications, without compromising high temperature and volatility aspects. It is based on linear glycol ether chemistry. Compared to standard non-aromatic plasticisers, it has a better compatibility with medium to polar plastics, especially at low temperature and in contact with organic solvents and oils. The use of the glycol ether backbone prevents low temperature brittleness. When compared to standard products like DOP and DOA, the flexibility is stable after high temperature aging under accelerated conditions.
Proviplast 0142 is part of a family of new plasticisers which can help in replacing phthalates in current applications. It can be used in nitrile, epichlorohydrine, polychloroprene or other fluorinated rubbers. Due to its special structure, it can also be used as a plasticiser or co-plasticiser for polyvinylchloride, polyvinylchloride-rubber blends, polyvinylbutyral for laminated safety glass and biobased polymers.
