Mixland + HMT – Hexamethylenetetramine – HMT can be used as a secondary amine accelerator with thiazoles, thiurams and dithio-carbamates. Since it is basic, it is particularly good in compounds that have acidic fillers such as clay and silica. Amine accelerators like HMT make the zinc cure complexes more soluble and require very little fatty acids. However, when a thiazole and HMT are used together with fatty acid, scorch is delayed without affecting the final cure time.
HMT can also be used as an adhesion promotor in HRH adhesion systems used to bond rubber to brass coated wire.
It is suitable for all types of rubber (NR, SBR, NBR) except silicone rubber.
